We begin in silence. Listening to the site, the light, and the life you intend to hold within it.

From an unfinished shell to a composed interior — every project is a slow, deliberate transformation.
IONS is not a decorating studio. We are interior architects, working the way a composer works — with silence, proportion, and material. Each project begins with the raw shell and ends with a room that feels resolved, as if nothing else could ever have been there.
Our language is restrained: travertine, honed oak, lime plaster, Belgian linen, brushed brass. Our practice is slow. What we design is meant to remain — and to age with the same quiet dignity as the buildings that hold it.
We begin in silence. Listening to the site, the light, and the life you intend to hold within it.
A single idea, drawn with restraint. Every proposal begins as one line on paper.
Stone, oak, plaster, linen. Sourced by hand, chosen for how they will age with you.
Workshops in Italy, Portugal and Japan translate the drawing into millimetric reality.
We leave you a space that feels inevitable — as if it had always been there.

Every joint, shadow gap, reveal and radius is drawn at 1:1. Our workshops execute in millimetres — because a millimetre, in a quiet room, is the difference between a wall and an object.
“They resolved a house we had been trying to finish for a decade. Everything now feels inevitable.”
“A studio that treats interior architecture the way a museum treats its collection.”
“The restraint is what stays with you. Nothing is loud, and yet nothing is ordinary.”

“Every remarkable space begins with a single line.”
